<div style="text-align: center;">
Our hills are designed for tabletop gaming, we know the issues and we
know different people have different preferences and needs, so we have made them
available in three different versions: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>30mm Round Top</b>, <b>9mm Flat Top</b> and <b>5mm Extra flat</b>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<h2 style="text-align: center;">
***</h2>
<b>Round Top </b>- 30mm high, made from HD polystyrene over plywood - the traditional hill profile with the greatest elevation, carefully sloped to allow figures to stand on them as best as possible;<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v0O7l2p-F8c/VNX-MD6bB2I/AAAAAAAAAZc/BuIp5To6tDw/s1600/rtp_hills_1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v0O7l2p-F8c/VNX-MD6bB2I/AAAAAAAAAZc/BuIp5To6tDw/s1600/rtp_hills_1.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are the most realistic style but as you probably already know also the more problematic to use, transport and store, as you can see in these images showing them in action with our <a href="http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html" target="_blank">15mm Vikings</a> mounted on 3mm thick litko laser-cut plywood bases.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sByBFkbhyqE/VNX-ZQzd3tI/AAAAAAAAAZk/XBVtN7ds8o8/s1600/rtp_hills_1b.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sByBFkbhyqE/VNX-ZQzd3tI/AAAAAAAAAZk/XBVtN7ds8o8/s1600/rtp_hills_1b.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A line of battle shows how a geometric formation always tend to be disrupted by the rounded profile despite it being optimised for the job (above) and a close up shows how the profile and edges have been carefully designed and tested to ensure the figure bases can always stand on them quite well, offering the best possible results with this style (below).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xL9te4LQQY0/VNX-sDCAy4I/AAAAAAAAAZ0/iBlKU3vls_M/s1600/rtp_hills_1c.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xL9te4LQQY0/VNX-sDCAy4I/AAAAAAAAAZ0/iBlKU3vls_M/s1600/rtp_hills_1c.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
***</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Extra flat</b> - made from 5mm thick plywood - designed with the competitive
player in mind these are optimised to allow figures to stand on them and to be
carried easily; they rely exclusively on the painting to give the illusion of a
greater height; </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j9jJyp1E95E/VNYAstvmq_I/AAAAAAAAAas/jV2OTbYqaY0/s1600/rtp_hills_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j9jJyp1E95E/VNYAstvmq_I/AAAAAAAAAas/jV2OTbYqaY0/s1600/rtp_hills_3.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a>These are the most abstract style but also the most practical to use, transport and store, and as you can see in these images showing
them in action with our<a href="http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html" target="_blank"> 15mm Vikings</a> still look a lot better than a plain piece of felt. The three-dimensional effect that appear in some of the images is due exclusively to the paint job and the finish, these are completely flat except for the edges which are bevelled to gently slope outward. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m6mMdzyLUZ4/VNX_YD2teMI/AAAAAAAAAaM/_oICs6rfguI/s1600/rtp_hills_3b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m6mMdzyLUZ4/VNX_YD2teMI/AAAAAAAAAaM/_oICs6rfguI/s1600/rtp_hills_3b.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A line of battle shows how a geometric formation is minimally affected by the flat profile and low thickness (above) and a close up shows how even the edge has been carefully bevelled to ensure the minimum possible disruption (below).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5IuH4cg46VI/VNX_jqGU2CI/AAAAAAAAAaU/S9ZZu3eeurA/s1600/rtp_hills_3c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5IuH4cg46VI/VNX_jqGU2CI/AAAAAAAAAaU/S9ZZu3eeurA/s1600/rtp_hills_3c.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
***</h2>
<b>Flat Top</b> - made from 9mm thick plywood - an ideal compromise to allow
figures to stand on them easily and still retain a distinct 3D
structure; <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLutRJtPh8I/VNX-nfoMhAI/AAAAAAAAAZs/B4zW9WEoDIs/s1600/rtp_hills_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VLutRJtPh8I/VNX-nfoMhAI/AAAAAAAAAZs/B4zW9WEoDIs/s1600/rtp_hills_2.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are designed to give you the best possible of both worlds, they are not completely flat like the <b>Extra Flat</b> ones but are still much lower than the <b>Round Top</b> style and their flat top contour ensure that they remain very practical to use,
transport and store while at the same time still looking pretty nice, as you can see in these images showing
them in action with our<a href="http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html" target="_blank"> 15mm Vikings</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WKlGarsXb5c/VNX-8mS4S_I/AAAAAAAAAZ8/4-5GLt_MDLs/s1600/rtp_hills_2b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WKlGarsXb5c/VNX-8mS4S_I/AAAAAAAAAZ8/4-5GLt_MDLs/s1600/rtp_hills_2b.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A line of battle shows how a geometric formation is only slightly
affected by the flat profile and moderate thickness (above) and a close
up showing how the edge has been carefully bevelled to ensure the
minimum possible disruption (below).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bNAx_1DfLCg/VNX_J3jJX5I/AAAAAAAAAaE/Wic54VKMyb8/s1600/rtp_hills_2c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bNAx_1DfLCg/VNX_J3jJX5I/AAAAAAAAAaE/Wic54VKMyb8/s1600/rtp_hills_2c.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
***</h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6XvpemYfp_c/VNYAtzW8YsI/AAAAAAAAAa0/fEeD8Zuw-oM/s1600/terrain%2Bshapes%2Bpreview%2BS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6XvpemYfp_c/VNYAtzW8YsI/AAAAAAAAAa0/fEeD8Zuw-oM/s1600/terrain%2Bshapes%2Bpreview%2BS.jpg" height="266" width="320" /></a></div>
All three different thickness style of our hills are currently available in four different shapes,and two different finish. Only the small size (S) series is already available at the moment, but we are working to offer as soon as possible also a medium (M) and a large size (L) version, if you would like to receive a short note as soon as these will be available too just subscribe to this blog using the link to the left of the page!<br /><br />The white rectangle in the middle of the shape diagram is always 120x80mm drawn to scale.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course we can also realize hills for you in every shape, size and finish you want, from simple variations of the standard stock shown above to completely custom designed contour and sizes, from accurate reproductions of real terrain to fantastic alien landscapes, we can do it all, just ask!</div>

In case you wonder, a camp like this would set you back around 75.00 euros and would involve at least a couple of months waiting... :)<br />

These are the latest mats, the tank shown for scale only is the same 1/100th scale (15mm) Zvezda
plastic model just primed grey you can see also in the pictures of the Desert finish <a href="http://baueda.blogspot.it/2012/09/6x4-180x120-cm-backdrops.html">here</a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y0S7HfDA-jY/U8AQ38cbECI/AAAAAAAAAVE/GVAxjIzzxkA/s1600/TM3x3T_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y0S7HfDA-jY/U8AQ38cbECI/AAAAAAAAAVE/GVAxjIzzxkA/s1600/TM3x3T_1.jpg" height="458" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
here you can see side by side the difference between the "Temperate" (above) and "Mediterranean" finish (below)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dFgDPku3Svs/U8AQ1wPjvQI/AAAAAAAAAU8/UXgjXgpvPr0/s1600/TM6x4M-T_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dFgDPku3Svs/U8AQ1wPjvQI/AAAAAAAAAU8/UXgjXgpvPr0/s1600/TM6x4M-T_1.jpg" height="458" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
another comparison shot of the two different styles, here you can also see clearly the border and the thickness of the actual material <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JzuoachTC3E/U8ASQgHbK-I/AAAAAAAAAVY/4vBHJk90pZA/s1600/TM6x4M-T_2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JzuoachTC3E/U8ASQgHbK-I/AAAAAAAAAVY/4vBHJk90pZA/s1600/TM6x4M-T_2.jpg" height="458" width="640" /></a></div>
an overall view of the Mediterranean mat, like all other images in this page this picture has been taken with natural light coming from a window and artificial light at the opposite end. You can clearly see the yellowish tint toward the top of the picture and the blue tint at the bottom (the tank is painted neutral grey!) both are digital artefacts due to the different color temperature of the lights. The actual colors are somewhere in the middle between the two... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

and this is what a Republican Roman Century encamped would look like, there would be at least 60 of these in a single consular legion and there would normally be 2 roman + 2 allied legions in a camp, so 240 of these... would take me a while to paint them all... :)Bauedahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02782196409708873065noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4634615292774443164.post-67812510080922879812013-05-22T06:19:00.003-07:002013-05-22T06:19:23.620-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Hi guys!</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"> </span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">We are
already producing a range of high quality resin cast wargame terrain,
designed specifically for our <a href="http://1-48combat.com/" target="_blank"><b>1-48TACTIC</b></a> range of 1:48 WWII
miniatures and fully compatible with 28mm figures. Currently this
range already include several basic modular fortifications and
entrenchments, including a small sandbag bunker, the 28003CB sentry
post.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">We now
want to add a new massive sandbag bunker to the range!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-decoration: none;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Large
models like this are expensive to put into production and since
Baueda Wargames is still pretty much a one man band (that would be
me) with very limited financial resources I've decided to ask for
your help to make it happen!</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="text-decoration: none;">So
I need your hard earned cash to finance the costs of putting more
awesome new models in production, but what's in it for you? You get
the option to acquire the models with a substantial discount even
before they are added to our catalog and begin to ship to retailers.
I'm doing this to pay for the growth of the company, so basically you
are getting the products at cost price, but hurry! The campaign will
only last until </span>Fri 14th of June, so grab your
chance to be part of it NOW!</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">If
for any reason you don't want or can't contribute to the campaign,
but you would still like to see this product added to our catalog so
that it will soon be available also from your local retailer then
please help to get the word out, let your friends know, share this on
facebook and make some noise about this campaign in your local gaming
community! You'll have our everlasting gratitude and will help us
bringing to life yet more new fantastic models!</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
very happy to finally be able to show off some of the new 15mm vikings I've been working on! These are intended to supplement our current range, which you can see in all its glory at <a href="http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html">http://www.baueda.com/hostis_vik.html</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bdc-cbfNjfM/UTSfM2w6H-I/AAAAAAAAAN0/3f8Akqo2OGc/s1600/VIK12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="394" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bdc-cbfNjfM/UTSfM2w6H-I/AAAAAAAAAN0/3f8Akqo2OGc/s640/VIK12.jpg" width="640" /></a>The original range has been sculpted by M. Campagna who also sculpted the majority of all our 15mm figures, so I've tried to keep these as consistent as possible with his work in style, size and proportion. As a result of this, the new spear armed Vikings can be mixed with the
rest of the range, even on the same base, as well as with all other
"standard" 15mm figures that like ours are designed to be compatible with Essex 15s.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uis0g2Y6OMk/UTSfPitCUrI/AAAAAAAAAN8/Nm4byHJjQQE/s1600/VIK11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="394" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uis0g2Y6OMk/UTSfPitCUrI/AAAAAAAAAN8/Nm4byHJjQQE/s640/VIK11.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've designed these new figures following the most recent research, they are dressed and armed appropriately for 750-1050 AD freemen and also have a small axe as a sidearm. They are specifically designed so that it is possible to arrange them in a compact shieldwall formation with overlapping shields and will come in packs of 8 figures picked at random from about a dozen different variations.<img border="0" height="394" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oFu4wseZIE4/UTSfMhCK8eI/AAAAAAAAANs/2aVEY5J27AI/s640/VIK11+12.jpg" width="640" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
in the last picture you can see the main difference between the two codes: VIK11 include figures that have the shoulder line almost perpendicular to the shield which allow for the spear to be cast on with the rest of the figure all in one piece. VIK12 include figures who are facing straight to the enemy with the shoulders roughly parallel to the shield. These have ring hands and will be supplied with separate spears. You can easily replace the tin spears with brass or steel in both packs if you like, although in the case of VIK11 you'll need to cut off the cast-on spear first, but it's a very quick and easy job to do anyway... personally I like to use the tin ones, they look better IMO and if they happen to bend I just straight them up... I've done this many many times already and never broke one, thanks to the high quality lead free alloy we use, however even if one should eventually brake a that point I can replace it with a brass one! Don't see the point to do it beforehand, especially since the cast on ones will happily last me for years anyway... :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you see here are actual production casts, so these should be available soon!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I may delay a bit the release of VIK12 because I'd like to add a small sprue of alternative weapons to the pack, so that customers can arm some of the figures with axes and swords instead of spear and mix them in the ranks of Bondi warriors... or maybe I should put those separately in a mixed equipment pack, with some extra spear and shields which can always come handy for detailing the camp etc... what you think?</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Painting started! </span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This is what I call "foundation painting", basically flat colors using miniature colors, followed by a heavy dark wash and a light drybrush.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This sets the general tone and it helps with seeing how each color work with the others and fits in the overall contest... now all is left to do is detail painting, for this I use mainly artist's acrylics. </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This is a work in progress preview of a couple of new 28mm tent models I'm working on...</span><b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"></span></b><b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> </span></b></div>
<h2 class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="476" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U86R4ZZFNfg/UQpmg4v3GjI/AAAAAAAAAMI/KWdPH9VLY7Q/s640/28mmarabtent_large.jpg" width="640" /></span></b></h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The large model is still mostly armature at this stage, but that is in fact the main part of the work done!<br />The
oversize poles seen here are only for structural strength, they will be removed
before casting the models and a set of accurately scaled poles will be
supplied with it. Similarly, the guy ropes are only there to give a realistic stretch to the assembly but will not be cast on for technical reasons... it will be easy to re-wire the model up later if one wishes...<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bc7MAmaSdew/UQpmhTR80hI/AAAAAAAAAMM/dgVlJ-xkrsk/s1600/28mmarabtent_small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bc7MAmaSdew/UQpmhTR80hI/AAAAAAAAAMM/dgVlJ-xkrsk/s640/28mmarabtent_small.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">the smaller one has a complete cover already in place, I still need to add some jars and packed up goods stowed inside next to the entrance and a bit of terrain all round it, then is ready to go to molding... which is going to be a rather challenging business!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Both tents will have an open front, with interior details and a close end. Accurately scaled for 28mm figures, the large one is approximately 7" x 5" x 2.5" while the smaller one is 5"x3.5"</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> x 2.5"</span><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This
is the completed model, all assembled and ready to paint! </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Here you can see some detail of the layered plywood construction, the final 2mm MDF top layer to create a recess for the removable Impetus size base (80x60mm) and the embankment and palisade realized using our <a href="http://www.baueda.com/hop.html" target="_blank">15mm Hoppidus modular fortification system</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">MDF is not a very strong material so all exposed edges have been reinforced by soaking them with cyanoacrylate (superglue) this turns it into a much harder, resin-like material. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The insert show some of the camp figures and baggage used, these are going to be released very soon!</span><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"></span></span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Here you can see the insert removed and replaced by an Impetus size base of troops to garrison the
camp.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The gate is removable, I usually mount it on a separate base, but here there is a slope underneath that prevent this, so instead I made two brass guides which are mounted to the side and allow the gate to slid in and out as needed...</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This is a custom order for a fortified camp, made into an open ended circuit, u shaped, without the back side, all realized using our <a href="http://www.baueda.com/hop.html" target="_blank">15mm Hoppidus modular fortification system</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The front of the fortification is 20cm wide (5 x 40mm wide modules, the middle one being the gate opening) and the sides are 12cm (3 x 40mm modules) in depth. This is mounted on a wider sloped base</span><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> with a 15mm wide ditch cut into it.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The base is made of three layers of 4mm thick plywood topped by a 2mm thick MDF</span><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> sheet</span>, cut to shape, glued together with generous amounts of extra-strong PVA and left to dry for three weeks under press.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">All this to endure the best possible stability of the finished piece and minimize warping with age. The thickness is the minimum necessary to allow for the ditch to be cut into the actual base depth. The inner courtyard is 140mm wide by 90mm deep and has a
80mm x 60mm recess cut into it, 2mm deep. There is no 2mm plywood commercially available here but I managed to scavenge some from the back of an old frame! There is an insert to fit into this recess (shown in place in the picture) which has 2 x <a href="http://www.baueda.com/15romantent.html" target="_blank">15LEG</a><a href="http://www.baueda.com/15romantent.html" target="_blank"> 15mm legionary tents</a> on it. The tents are not mounted yet, they'll be based with a few supplies to make a nice lively scene...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The third tent is permanently attached to the base. The insert can be removed and replaced by an Impetus size base of troops to garrison the camp.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The green stuff showing in the picture is some squadron putty used to hide the tiny gaps that would otherwise remain at the junction with two pieces... </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Now that the main structural work is complete will finish the outer terrain, there is still a gap to cover around the ditch and also the access ramp need to be level. I also going to apply an appropriate finish to the face of the plywood still visible under the embankment and texture the terrain. All this will be done before mounting the palisade, so I can leave the glue to set with the whole piece under press, again to avoid warping due to the tension generated by the glue hardening... once is all set the palisade will go up and then the whole piece will be ready to paint!</span></div>

The last image was taken
with natural light only then the image has been processed to add some
contrast enhancement. The real color is somehow halfway between all these, but a bit lighter...</div>

Just finished a couple of large terrain mats, both commission orders.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a 6x4 in "Desert" finish, the tank is a 1/100th scale (15mm) Zvezda plastic model (originally I did mistakenly wrote Tamiya) just primed...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the idea was to have an example of a neutral grey region as well as a scale reference, but it turned out the primer I used is a distinct blue hue... bugger! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3r-qmWumCyU/UEcaVZtiIGI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/2DsAZDxKC_4/s1600/TM6x4D_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3r-qmWumCyU/UEcaVZtiIGI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/2DsAZDxKC_4/s320/TM6x4D_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Taken with the same light but the image has been processed adding a strong contrast enhancement to show off details. The actual color variation is more subtle and overall the terrain color is much lighter than this!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_LJz4Egivjk/UEcDYPhrWvI/AAAAAAAAAII/WjdRCozighA/s320/TM6x4D_2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a shot with a strong light placed very low and some extra contrast added in post processing to pick up the detail of the texture, the colors are burned out as a result...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IThF4FAratI/UEcDb5UuTyI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/mJ6XW-6f9yg/s1600/TM6x4D_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IThF4FAratI/UEcDb5UuTyI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/mJ6XW-6f9yg/s320/TM6x4D_3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a 6x4 in "Temperate" finish, the tank is the same as above, the figure is a 1:100 (15mm) Norman knight from our own range: <a href="http://www.baueda.com/hostis_nrm.html">http://www.baueda.com/hostis_nrm.html</a></div>

There is room for some pretty decent ordnance and its crew in there, but of course it won't work for a big artillery piece... fear not, for that there is this is 28002CB sandbag gun emplacement:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div>the massive sandbag defence itself has been ready for a while and I've posted a preview here a while ago, but we decided to hold on the release and add some little extra to it: a fuse setting station and a pile of discarded boxes and empty shells... I hope you'll agree it was worth waiting for it!<br />
<br />
Both will start shipping this week! <br />
